The NFL has announced the finalized Pro Bowl Games rosters, including injury replacements, ahead of next Tuesday’s AFC versus NFC flag football game.
NFC roster changes led to two new quarterbacks subbing in as the Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts replace the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford and Seattle Seahawks’ Sam Darnold, respectively.
Those quarterbacks could be throwing to three targets from the Dallas Cowboys now that tight end Jake Ferguson (replacing the San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle) and CeeDee Lamb (replacing the Seahawks’ Jaxson Smith-Njigba) have joined George Pickens in the lineup.
Cowboys receiver KaVontae Turpin also subbed in as a return specialist replacement for the Seahawks’ Rashid Shaheed.
On defense, cornerbacks Keisean Nixon (Packers) and Nahshon Wright (Chicago Bears) will step in for the Seahawks’ Devon Witherspoon and Eagles’ Quinyon Mitchell, respectively.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Demarcus Lawrence, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter and Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams are all not participating but were not replaced.
The AFC also saw quarterback turnover from the initial Pro Bowl Games roster. The Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert isn’t participating, and the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Flacco and Cleveland Browns’ Shedeur Sanders are stepping in for the New England Patriots’ Drake Maye and Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen, respectively.
The Bengals’ Tee Higgins is replacing Baltimore Ravens wideout Zay Flowers, while the Indianapolis Colts’ Tyler Warren and Bills’ Dalton Kincaid are stepping in for the Las Vegas’ Raiders Brock Bowers and Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce at tight end.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Devin Lloyd is replacing the Pittsburgh Steelers’ T.J. Watt at outside linebacker. The Houston Texans’ Kamari Lassiter is subbing in for Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez, while his teammate Calen Bullock is replacing Steelers free safety Jalen Ramsey.
Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt, Broncos offensive guard Quinn Meinerz, Colts offensive guard Quenton Nelson, Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones are all not participating without replacements.
Pro Bowl rosters are selected through a combination of fan, player and coaches votes. The Pro Bowl Games will feature skills challenges and the flag football game when they kick off Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
