MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s tennis team (4-0) picked up a pair of victories on Saturday, defeating Temple (0-3), 4-1, before closing the day with a 7-0 sweep of Cleveland State (0-3) in a doubleheader at the Summit Tennis Academy.
 
The day also marked the Mountaineer debut for Lily Harper, who earned her first collegiate victory in the second match of the doubleheader.
 
Match One
WVU 4, Temple 1
West Virginia secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The match on court one was left unfinished.

The Mountaineers clinched the match in singles play, earning four victories before both coaches agreed to play out the rest of the match with courts five and six only playing one set matches.

West Virginia carried its momentum into the afternoon match, sweeping the doubles point with wins on all three courts. The Mountaineers completed the sweep with six singles victories. Harper earned her first collegiate win in her Mountaineer debut, rallying for a three-set victory on court six.
