The Alpine driver has joined a growing group of investors backing the French-based outfit, marking a rare and notable crossover between Formula 1 and MotoGP.
The move comes as MotoGP enters a new era under Liberty Media, which completed its takeover of the championship in 2025. Liberty Media plans to grow MotoGP using a similar approach to the one that helped Formula 1 reach a much wider global audience after 2017. Gasly’s investment is seen as another positive step in raising the profile of the sport.
KTM Tech3 already has clear links to Formula 1. The team is led by former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner, who is part of the consortium that bought the team last year. Although ownership has changed, the team continues to operate from its long-standing base in Bormes-les-Mimosas in France, with a focus on stability and gradual growth.
