INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Caitlin Clark’s confident.

But then again, when isn’t she?

This time, the Indiana Fever All-Star’s confidence concerns a new collective bargaining agreement between the WNBA and Players Association.

“I truly do believe we’re going to get something done here in the next couple weeks,” Clark said during an appearance on NBC’s Basketball Night in America Sunday.

Talks between the two sides have been seemingly never-ending. A new CBA still hasn’t been ratified, which has halted all offseason action, including the expansion draft for the two new teams, the Toronto Tempo and Portland Fire. The draft was originally scheduled to take place on Dec. 6, 2025, but has been pushed back indefinitely until the league and players reach a new agreement.

Free agency was also set to open on January 21 with players allowed to sign contracts on Sunday.

The league and players association have a meeting set for Monday, Feb. 2 in hopes of getting closer to an agreement.

“Honestly, I don’t think this is just a big moment for the WNBA. I think for all women’s sports, this is one of the biggest moments we’ve ever had,” Clark said. “I feel very confident that we’re going to get something done, and that’s because we’re in this moment because of the product we put on the floor, so we need to be able to continue to do that.”

Once the two sides reach an agreement, then the league can start playing catch up on everything missed during the long negotiations.

“There’s a lot of boxes that we still need to check,” Clark said. “There’s a lot of things left to do, but I really do feel confident that both sides are going to reach a deal here soon.”

The WNBA Draft for all teams is scheduled to take place April 14, if an agreement is made.
