The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series officially begins with the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on Wednesday, February 4 (2/4/2026) at 6 p.m. ET, after being postponed from Sunday due to historic snowfall in North Carolina.
The rescheduled Cook Out Clash will still air on FOX, and streams live on fuboTV (free trial) and other live TV services.
The Clash is an exhibition, and doesn’t count towards standings in the NASCAR Cup Series regular season. But it often serves as a preview of which drivers are on track for strong seasons. Kyle Larson won the clash in 2025, and went on to win the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series title after a third-place finish at the Championship at the Phoenix Raceway on November 2.
Thirty-eight cars entered for Wednesday’s Cook Out Clash, and the final field is cut to 23 after qualifying. Here’s how to watch the race.

NASCAR returns to Bowman Gray Stadium for the second year in a row, after making its first return to the venue since 1971 during 2025. The stadium is known as the “Mecca of Madhouse” because the Winston-Salem quarter-mile is notorious for its rough-and-tumble racing style and numerous fights.
This year’s bomb cyclone over North Carolina forced NASCAR to reschedule the exhibition to Wednesday night. Snow-covered roads made it too dangerous for teams and fans to reach Bowman-Gray Stadium. The Clash was first condensed into a Sunday-only show, then moved it to Monday. On Sunday, they announced the shift to Wednesday evening because of the historic winter weather. Its final date on Wednesday is just one week before Daytona 500 qualifying.
