A $12.5-million offer has been made by the City of Laval, Que. to purchase the Golf Ste-Rose property and convert it into a nature park.

CityNews reports the city’s mayor said he wishes the property to be accessible by the public for outdoor activities rather than see it developed for real estate.

Preserving the 52-hectare property as parkland, which includes 14 hectares of woodland, would strengthen the region’s climate resistance, the mayor of Montreal says.

Plans are to lease the Golf Ste-Rose site until Nov. 30, 2027, allowing for two more golf seasons, while considerations will be made for its future use.
