One of Max Holloway’s former opponents wonders if Charles Oliveira is ‘all-in’ on their upcoming title fight at UFC 326.

BMF titleholder Max Holloway’s next title defense will come against a former featherweight foe in a highly-anticipated showdown at UFC 326.

Holloway and former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will fight in a pivotal lightweight bout in the UFC 326 headliner. Oliveira is looking to potentially earn another lightweight title shot after a knockout loss to Ilia Topuria last year at UFC 317.

But Oliveira bounced back in a big way against Mateusz Gamrot in his most-recent outing at UFC Rio, defeating Gamrot by submission. The victory earned him a shot at Holloway after a controversial loss to the former featherweight champ earlier in their UFC careers.

Despite what’s at stake at UFC 326, one of Holloway’s former foes questions whether or not Oliveira is fully motivated heading into their rematch.

Frankie Edgar wonders if Charles Oliveira’s ‘hunger’ is alive ahead of UFC 326

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Holloway’s former rival Frankie Edgar shared an interesting assessment of the UFC 326 main event.

“I think Holloway is on a tear, kind of like a resurgence a little bit. (155 pounds) is definitely his weight class now. I think going down to ’45 was too taxing on him. Oliveira, I don’t know, sometimes you just wonder,” Edgar said of Oliveira.

“He had such an up-and-down type of career until he became the champion, and you just wonder if he’s still hungry. That’s what I wonder. I feel like Holloway is still chasing the bone.”

Holloway also has a lot to prove against Oliveira at UFC 326 as he looks to compete for a second UFC title in the near future. His last two lightweight appearances resulted in dominant wins against Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.

For Oliveira, this current lightweight title run could potentially be his last, and he’ll look to showcase a sense of urgency at UFC 326.
