It’s that time of year – income tax season. It’s time to get the paper work together.
49% of Canadians are feeling positive about personal finances but, 47% say they’re feeling negative and 49% believe they “won’t achieve financial success no matter what they do”.
This is according to the RBC Financial Flexibility Poll: 2026 Edition.
You won’t be surprised to learn for the majority of us, “everyday costs are a shared barrier to achieving financial goals”.
The poll found 49% of adults feel “resilient, optimistic, hopeful or unconcerned about their personal finances, almost as many (47%) feel exhausted, apprehensive, anxious or frustrated.”
And so, it’s interesting to note, the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit will help an estimated 30% of Canadians.
There’s a big gap there.
