The B.C. Lions released defensive lineman Jalil Clemons from the practice squad on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Jalil Clemons is six foot three and weighs 240 pounds. The 24-year-old from Macon, Mississippi, signed with the B.C. Lions on May 16, 2025. In 2025, he made one tackle in two preseason games. He was placed on the practice squad and spent two months there.
Collegiately, Clemons played three seasons at Memphis (2019-21) making 36 tackles (21 solos, 15 assists), nine tackles for loss, three sacks, and one pass breakup in 26 games for the Tigers. In 2019, he made 15 tackles (8 solos, 7 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in 13 games helping Memphis win the AAC Conference and appear in the Cotton Bowl.
Then, he transferred to Southern Mississippi (2022-24) making 53 tackles (25 solos, 28 assists), 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, and one pass breakup in 24 games for the Golden Eagles. In 2024, he made 34 tackles (14 solos, 20 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks in 12 games. Clemons finished tenth on the team in total tackles and tied second in sacks.
