After capturing the Canadian Bowl title this past season to cap his career with the Saskatoon Hilltops, Eatonia’s Johnathon Stevens is attempting to tackle the next level, the defensive lineman expected to start that process with the 2026 Invitational Combine in Waterloo, Ontario coming up in March.

Stevens will be one of 77 players in attendance on March 6 vying for an invite to the 2026 CFL Combine in Edmonton. The Hilltops star defensive lineman is part of a list including fellow CJFL players, but mostly USPORTS athletes that are aiming to join the 70 prospects already invited to the official event taking place Mar. 28 and 29.

The players who advance to Edmonton will be able to showcase their talents in front of all nine CFL teams ahead of the CFL Draft a month later on April 28. The full combine features not just USPORTS players but NCAA prospects expected to have CFL interest.

The late April draft is only one of two for the league, with the International Draft coming a day later April 29.
