SAN JACINTO, Calif. – Madi Hicks is inside the top five to guide the North Dakota State women’s golf team to sit in fourth place following day two of the Soboba Springs Classic at Soboba Springs Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.

Hicks (77-73—150) was even through 13 holes and picked up back-to-back birdies in the back nine to improve four strokes from round one. Hicks finished +1 on the day to climb two spots and is positioned in a tie for fourth at +5 headed into the final round.

Jeri Lafleche (81-71—152), who is playing as an individual, improved by 10 shots in the second round to climb 11 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for eighth. Lafleche fired three birdies and 13 holes at par to pick up her second round below par for the season of -1. Lafleche is +8 heading into the last round of play.

Cora Larson (80-76—156) and Avery Bartels (79-77—156) finished just outside the top ten in a tie for 13th at +12. Larson shot 13 holes at an even par to finish +4 in the second round. Bartels was +5 for the day with a pair of birdies on hole eight and 15.

Norah Roberts (78-83—161) is the final scoring Bison for round two. Roberts finished +11 on the day and sits in a tie for 31st at +17 going into the final day. Hannah Dunk (80-83—163) also finished +11 in round two to land in a tie for 34th at +19 going into the third round.

As a team, NDSU (314-309—623) is positioned in fourth after the first 36 holes, just four strokes behind third place UC Riverside (317-302—619). Fresno State (310-297—607) and CSU Northridge (312-295—607) are the leaders after the first two days, tied at +31.
