The WNBA on Saturday announced that the fan, who threw a dildo onto the court during the league game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries, has been arrested, The Associated Press reported.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, the July 29 game was temporarily suspended after a neon green dildo was thrown onto the court. The incident is said to have occurred during the fourth quarter and the final minute of the game.
But that action was repeated on another court on Friday as a dildo was also thrown onto the court during another Valkyries game in Chicago. The match was temporarily stopped as a result too.
It was, however, not established if authorities arrested the fan who threw the dildo during the Chicago Sky’s game against the Valkyries.

“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans,” the WNBA said in a statement.
“In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities.”
Sky’s Elizabeth Williams also described Friday’s incident as “super disrespectful.” “I don’t really get the point of it. It’s really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up,” she added.
“ARENA SECURITY?! Hello??!” New York Liberty forward Isabelle Harrison also shared on social media. “Please do better. It’s not funny. never was funny. Throwing ANYTHING on the court is so dangerous.”
