CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men’s tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over the College of Charleston on Tuesday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
With the win, the Chanticleers improved to 3-0 on the season.
“Charleston gave us a great fight today. Coach Bruner really had them ready from the start,” stated head coach Chris Powers. “We really needed this kind of match and I am very pleased how the guys handled the pressure of playing a quality opponent. It was a team win today.”
The Chants lost the doubles point before going on to win five of the six singles matches to clinch the victory.
Coastal picked up singles wins on courts one, three, four, five, and six.
Curzio Manucci delivered a strong performance winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 on court six to help seal the victory.
Coastal returns to action Feb. 13 as it hosts Furman. The match will start at 1 p.m.
