Aliyah Boston had herself a night in Unrivaled action on Monday, when she scored 33 points and hauled in 16 rebounds for Phantom BC in their 76-73 win over Vinyl BC.
Boston and guard Kelsey Plum combined for 63 of the Phantom’s 76 points in a dominant performance from the WNBA All-Star duo. Plum hit the game-winning shot — complete with a “too small” celebration — as the Phantom ensured they would be in Unrivaled’s six-team playoff when it begins next month.
It isn’t the first time that Boston has played with an All-Star guard; after all, she has shared the court with one Caitlin Clark for 53 games in the WNBA. But the Fever forward revealed there’s something different about teaming up with Plum, a two-time WNBA champion with whom she “loves” to play.
“She’s pushing me in a different way,” Boston told the media in Miami on Monday night. “Definitely mentally, which is where I needed to grow the most. Being able to do that this offseason has just been a pleasure for me.”
Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Plum made history, becoming the first #Unrivaled teammates to score 30+ points in the same game.
I asked Boston how their relationship has grown.

Boston praised Plum’s communication style and her work ethic, which Boston believes has had an impact on her and has helped the deepen their relationship.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that Boston would prefer to play with Plum over Clark; rather, the lessons learned in Unrivaled will make Boston a better WNBA player and teammate for Clark, as the two Fever stars hope to lead Indiana to a championship in the next seasons.
