LHSAA Playoff Brackets
Area Prep Soccer Playoff Report for Thursday, Feb. 12
In the boys Prep soccer playoffs Wednesday, No. 2 Brother Martin advanced with a 4-0 win over No. 18 Lafayette at Lafreniere Park.
Wyatt Hutchins, Hudson Cammarata and Nathan Wellman each scored a goal while the fourth goal was an own goal. Nick Jovanovich pitched a clean sheet in goal.
The Crusaders (20-3-1) advance to host No. 10 H.L. Bourgeois in the quarterfinals. The Braves edged West Monroe on penalty kicks Tuesday.
In Division II, four-time state champion and No. 5 seed The Willow School blanked No. 12 Beau Chene 6-0 at Brees Family Field.
Willow led 3-0 at halftime and added three goals in the second half.
Oliver Morse led the attack with two goals while Collin Rickett, Mile Chazin, Caliste Reggio and Jaden Thomas each added a goal. Thomas and Rickett each had an assist.
Willow (21-3-4) advances to the quarterfinals to play at No. 4 Prairieville next Tuesday.
No. 8 Archbishop Rummel advanced with a 2-1 win over No. 9 Pineville in Metairie.
Dominic Norales and Robert Montalvo-Vargas each scored a goal for the Raiders.
Rummel (19-6-5) advances to the quarterfinals to play at No. 1 seed Holy Cross, who edged No. 16 Ruston 1-0 Tuesday. The Tigers whipped Rummel 4-0 during the regular season.
In Division III, No. 4 Archbishop Hannan edged No. 13 Morris Jeff 1-0.
Freshman Enex Herrera scored the lone goal to produce the win.
The Hawks (14-6-2) advance to the quarterfinals to host No. 5 St. Charles Catholic.
In the girls Division I bracket, it was a scare for No. 3 Dominican but the home team prevailed 1-0 over No. 14 Fontainebleau at Pan American Stadium.
Evelyn Ieyoub scored the game winner in the 62nd minute. Evelyn Aucoin pitched the shutout in goal.
Dominican (21-0-4) remained unbeaten and is heading to the quarterfinals to play the winner of No. 6 Mandeville and No. 11 Barbe.
No. 13 Northshore went to No. 4 Denham Springs and upset the Yellow Jackets 2-1.
Isabella Polanco scored off a free kick in the first half before Chloe Beck put in the game-winner in the second half.
The Panthers (15-5-1) advance to play at No. 5 Benton in the quarterfinals. Benton defeated No. 12 St. Amant 3-1.
In the Division II bracket, top seed Ben Franklin eliminated No. 17 Lakeshore.
Chloe Bunton stole the show with a hat trick for the Falcons. Avery Michael, Justina Prejeant and Lily Engleberg were excellent throughout.
Ben Franklin (11-7-3) advances to the quarterfinals to face No. 9 The Willow School. The Lions shut out No. 25 West Ouachita 3-0 Tuesday.
No. 2 St. Scholastica romped over No. 15 Ruston 9-0 at home.
The Doves (13-5-6) advance to the quarterfinals to face the winner of No. 7 Prairieville and No. 10 Neville.
In Division IV, No. 6 Newman edged No. 1 Northlake Christian 1-0 at home.
The Greenies (11-7-3) move on to the quarterfinals against the winner of No. 3 Loyola Prep and No. 19 Ouachita Christian.
