Less than a month after he released a video teasing a comeback, former Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. is headed to the Canadian Football League.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Friday that they signed Henderson Jr., three years after his last NFL game for L.A. Henderson Jr., 28, played for the Rams from 2019 to 2023, where he rushed 442 times for 1,854 yards and 15 touchdowns.

He also had a short stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the 2022 season, but never played a game for them. Henderson Jr. briefly returned to the Rams after that in 2023 but only played in four games before being released. That same season, Kyren Williams blossomed as the Rams’ starting running back. Williams rushed 224 times for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in only 12 appearances.

The Roughriders’ first game of the season is June 13 against the BC Lions.
