Edmonton police (EPS) said a man died after being shot in a car Monday afternoon. They are seeking dash cam footage to help with the investigation.
EPS said they responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting around 1:45 p.m. in the area of 109 Street and 166 Avenue.
“Upon arrival, they found an injured male and lifesaving measures were administered by both EPS and EMS,” police said.
The man was taken to hospital where he was declared dead. An autopsy will be scheduled later in the week, according to EPS.
Earlier in the day, police had closed Castle Downs Road between 100 Street and 112 Street for investigation.
Multiple police vehicles were on scene. A black GMC SUV with its passenger-side window smashed.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with dashcam or doorbell camera footage from the area, and west towards Castle Downs Road between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
