A 41-year-old man is facing several firearms offences after being arrested by the Ottawa police in the east end of the city Monday evening.
At about 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 16, officers responded to a call about a person who was possibly in possession of firearms in a vehicle near a residential address, police said in a news release Tuesday.
A man was arrested at the scene, police said, and three handguns in the vehicle were seized. They said the individual was bound by court-imposed conditions prohibiting him from possessing firearms.

Garip Hammoe is facing multiple charges related to breaching court-imposed conditions and unlawfully possessing, carrying and transporting firearms, including: Failing to follow a court order and breaching release conditions; careless handling and storage of firearms (three counts); carrying concealed firearms (three counts); possessing restricted or prohibited firearms without the required licence and registration (three counts); possessing firearms without a valid licence (three counts); and being in a vehicle while knowingly in possession of firearms (three counts).
