Surrey is home to British Columbia’s largest Black population. During Black History Month, The Early Edition association producer Sia Foryoh paid a visit to Royals in Surrey. It’s a beauty supply store, a hair salon, a community centre, a drive-thru takeout jerk spot and a future grocery store — all in one. As she finds out, the store is a hub for the local Black community.
