“The Red Wings also have other potential top-six forwards on the horizon. So, it would make sense for the Canucks to target Kasper. In Vancouver, Kasper wouldn’t face the pressure he has now in Detroit to make the leap for a potential playoff team.” Quixtan said about why Vancouver could be a landing spot for Kasper.
Kasper, a native of Innsbruck, Austria, is in his second full season in the National Hockey League and there was plenty of expectations placed on him after a strong rookie campaign in 2024-25 where he registered 19 goals in 77 games.
So far this season, Kasper has struggled in a big way offensively, tallying 13 points in 57 games and with the Red Wings looking to make a splash at the deadline and break their ten-year playoff drought, the centerman might be a trade chip for GM Steve Yzerman and it would be wise for Patrik Allvin to check in, just to see what it would cost to acquire him.
