After their visit to Vancouver as part of Fan Expo, the cast of The Lord of the Rings had some very nice things to say about the local food scene.

In a video posted by @dineoutvanfest on Tuesday evening, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd shared what they thought of all the great eats the city has to offer.

“Very friendly, great food scene,” said Monaghan. “We went for dinner last night [at] Mott 32, we’re going to Vij’s tonight, we’ve got one more night that is up for grabs.”

The four actors did end up dining at Vij’s, with the restaurant sharing photos from the visit on Sunday morning.

“Welcoming Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan to Vij’s felt surreal — four incredible artists whose work has brought so much joy to audiences around the world, gathered around our table in Vancouver,” said Vij’s. “We’re so grateful to share our food and hospitality with wonderful guests. Moments like these remind us why we love what we do.”

The restaurant also shared that each star walked away with a copy of My New Indian Kitchen, Chef Vij’s new cookbook co-authored with Jennifer Muttoo.

Vij’s is no strager to the limelight, with the likes of Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy, Arliss, and Killing Eve), Tom Cruise (Top Gun, Mission Impossible, and Jack Reacher), Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Captain America: Brave New World), and Robin Williams (Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, and Dead Poets Society) all having dined at the restaurant.

As for Mott 32, the Chinese restaurant has also hosted numerous celebrities, including The Last of Us cast and Will Ferrell.

Wood (who plays Frodo in the film), Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Boyd (Pippin), and Monaghan (Merry) were in town to greet fans at Fan Expo for the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which launched the legendary film franchise.
