Lana Del Rey has been cooking up her country album for quite some time — we’ve been waiting since 2024 — but now, with the release of her third single, “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” we have a better understanding of why the hell she changed the album’s title to Stove. “And I wanted to know if I could use your stove / To cook somethin’ up for you ’cause you’re positively voodoo, everything that you do / Did you know exactly how magical you are?,” Lana sings in the chorus. The “Video Games” singer called the new track — written by herself; her husband, Jeremy Dufrene; Jack Antonoff; her sister, Caroline “Chuck” Grant; and her brother-in-law, Jason Pickens — her “favorite song” from the upcoming album.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Dufrene released the music video for “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” and we saw the titular stove. She does put her head inside the oven part at one point. The video kind of plays like the fake home movies that are always a part of an “Oh, it’s so sad my wife died” montage. Except Lana Del Rey is there and she has a snow machine.

It’s been a long road to Stove, and we still haven’t received an updated release date. The album was originally titled Lasso, before Lana announced the name change to The Right Person Will Stay in 2024, before eventually settling on Stove, at least for right now. Like Lana Del Rey’s past album delays, it’ll eventually be worth the wait, but it’s the waiting that’s always the hard part.
