June 11, 1922 – January 18, 2026
John was one of 10 children born to Peter and Pearl Zaiec of Slawa, Alberta. He worked on the family farm until he was 34 years old and then left the farming life behind and went to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway. He worked with the railway for over 30 years and retired at 65 years of age.
John was an avid Golfer, Snooker player and loved to travel mainly in Canada and the USA with his long time companion Ruth Dickensheets who predeceased him. He enjoyed his many friends at the Chuck Bailey Senior Centre and also the many friends he met at his condo complex on Hilton Road in Surrey B.C.
He is survived by one sister Stephanie Audy of Edmonton, Alberta and many nieces and nephews.
