Two men face multiple charges after a pair of police raids in Mississauga and Toronto earlier this week turned up a loaded gun, drugs and a pile of cash.
Toronto Police said officers executed search warrants on Tuesday at premises in the Tomken Road/Bloor Street area of Mississauga and the Lake Shore Boulevard East/Lower Jarvis Street neighbourhood of downtown Toronto by the Gardiner Expressway.
They didn’t say if the raids were carried out at homes, businesses or other locations.
Officers seized a loaded handgun, amounts of cocaine and Oxycodone, and $5,000 in cash, police said in a news release on Thursday.
Mubarak Rirash, 37, of Mississauga, is charged with:
Possession of a firearm unknowing possession is unauthorized.
Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
Possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
Possession for the purpose (Schedule 1 substance).
Abadir Jimale, 41, of Toronto, is charged with:
Two counts of possession for the purpose (Schedule 1 substance).
Possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Both were scheduled to appear in Toronto court on Feb. 11.
