The Los Angeles Dodgers will do whatever it takes to get better, as Andrew Friedman is the best in the world at making moves. Now, the question isn’t whether he’ll make another move, but if he can make a trade for not only the best pitcher in baseball, but a youngster who has a chance to be a generational arm.

Thomas Carelli of Sports Illustrated proposed a deal for the Dodgers to land Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, despite how unlikely it sounds.
Dodgers receive: Paul Skenes
Pirates receive: Tyler Glasnow, River Ryan, Josue De Paula (OF, No. 1 prospect), Zyhir Hope (OF, No. 2 prospect), Jackson Ferris (SP, No. 6 prospect), Emil Morales (SS, No. 7 prospect)
“If any team in the MLB will deal half of their farm system for one elite player, that will be the Dodgers. They care not about money and all about winning. They have shown this over and over again.

“Skenes will surely command a massive deal sooner rather than later. It is surprising that he hasn’t received a big deal yet. We know the Pirates are reluctant to hand out contracts like that. If prime Babe Ruth walked in the door, they may trade him away. It is just how things are,” he wrote.
For Los Angeles, pairing Skenes with an already star-studded rotation would extend its championship window even further, which is insane to think about. For Pittsburgh, the return wouldn’t be what it needs to be, as there realistically isn’t a package out there for Skenes that makes sense for the Pirates.
