One of the Red Sox’s top prospects and the key piece of the franchise’s future, Anthony recently spoke about an early moment that helped shape his mindset as a big leaguer.
“I learned quick it’s all about accountability,” he said, per the Boston Herald. “Coming up in my first game and making a crucial error to lose against the Rays, you learn fast. … These fans, they expect a lot out of me in a way that, they have respect for me and they really enjoy watching me play, and they expect nothing but the best every single day. For me, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
The comment highlights not only how tough it is to play in Boston, but how perfect his mindset is. Anthony has all the tools in the world to be a star and his head appears to be in the right space mentally entering his first full big league season.
