I often wonder how many “experts” it takes to come up with a stupid idea. Not offering patients in The Ottawa Hospital a glass of ginger ale because there are no health benefits is stupid. I stand corrected. It’s beyond stupid.

I’ve been drinking ginger ale for decades. Never checked what’s in it. For all I know, it could contain Liquid-Plumr. Don’t care. There are six small cans in the cupboard in case I get sick, and I have no intention of checking the contents because The Ottawa Hospital “experts” say ginger ale has no health benefits.

Orange juice or ginger tea aren’t going to cut it when all a patient wants is ginger ale that may not contain ginger, but may contain sugar. They don’t care.

Now, if we were talking a keg, that would be a different matter altogether. But a glass or two? C’mon!
That’s beyond stupid.

UPHILL BATTLE FOR PIERRE

I’m about as Conservative as they come, but I don’t think Pierre Poilievre has what it takes to win an election, let alone a majority that would be needed to implement any real reforms.

Once Canada’s Liberal-friendly media define and vilify a Conservative political candidate, it’s an uphill battle to win elections.

Regardless, I wish Pierre good luck in his political aspirations.

CARNEY, FORD DOING FINE

Give Mark Carney time, he’s doing just fine in this tough time. He is by far the most qualified to get our economy back on track. He appears to be working very hard at doing so.

If you’re a Conservative and can’t work with Liberals to achieve this mutual goal, maybe you should pack your bags and move to America. Donald Trump will give you a job, maybe.

Doug Ford is doing a good job, too, in a province that is being hit very hard right know.

To all Canadians, we need to stand together; a country divided can’t stand strong. I’m a Liberal, but, if Carney was Conservative, I would have voted for him anyway. He knows his economics and so do I. The way he is handling our country’s situation is great; we hold better cards than many countries think. Reliability, consistency, mutual benefit and trust are the keys to a great deal.
