The No. 1 prospect in all of baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates‘ phenom oozes potential and could even make the Opening Day roster. And on Sunday, he earned some immense praise.

The compliment came from Philadelphia Phillies superstar Bryce Harper, a two-time MVP.

“He’s gonna be a stud, man,” Harper told the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcast crew in the middle of Sunday’s game.

Harper would know what it looks like.

He was one of the most can’t miss prospects in the history of the sport.

When Harper was in high school, he actually graduated early so he could play a year at a junior college and then be drafted No. 1 overall by the Washington Nationals.

Injuries hampered Harper just a bit, but otherwise, he’s been everything he was believed to be, one of the best players in baseball year in and year out.

Griffin has drawn comparisons to luminaries like Mike Trout this spring. He was No. 1 on every major service’s prospect rankings.

When he arrives, the Pirates will make room. He’s the future of their franchise, and there isn’t an analyst out there who thinks Griffin won’t be a star.

Harper specifically mentioned Griffin on Sunday when the kid ripped a 109 mile per hour liner to right field.

It doesn’t take long to notice Griffin. Everything he does on a baseball diamond is easy and impressive.

Now he’s just trying to live up to all the hype.
