The University of Minnesota Duluth Tennis Team dropped a thriller at Winona State, 3-4, Sunday afternoon at the Winona Tennis Center. The Bulldogs picked up wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles and also secured a win at No. 3 doubles, but the host Warriors were able to come away with the one-point victory. 

Freshman Paige Heideman was back to her winning ways at No. 4 singles, as she picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nikita Agrawal and fellow rookie Mia Miller got her first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory with a 6-2, 6-1 over Ally Burger at No. 5 singles. Sophomore Olivia Gorton earned an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles over Kate Velander. 

In doubles, senior Carly Chaney and redshirt freshman Danica Silcox secured a 6-3 win at No. 3 in their first appearance as a team. 

The Bulldogs have about a month before they are back in action, with their next matches scheduled for Saturday, March 21 vs. Minnesota Crookston and Sunday, March 22 vs. Minnesota State Moorhead at Gillett Wellness Center in Bemidji, Minn.Â
