Toronto Fire Services is warning of “significant delays” on the Gardiner Expressway for most of the day today due to a water main break near the highway.
A spokesperson for TFS said two lanes are blocked in each direction west of Park Lawn Road due to a broken water main that appears to be under or close to the highway.
They said water can be seen in multiple locations in those lanes and cold temperatures are exacerbating the issue.
As of about 6 a.m., TFS noted that “traffic is still flowing” but major delays are expected for the duration of the day.
Crews will also need to repair the roadway once the water main break has been fixed.
Police, firefighters, Toronto Water, and road crews remain on scene.
