Wainbee Ltd. said strategic move would expand its service and technical capabilities

A Mississauga-headquartered firm has acquired Hydraulics Plus, a Timmins company that manufactures and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and components, serving mining, forestry and other industries.

Calling it a “strategic acquisition,” Wainbee Ltd. said the move would enable the company to better service customers in northeastern Ontario by expanding its service and technical capabilities.

“Northern Ontario represents a highly resilient industrial market, and Hydraulics Plus’ strong service footprint allows us to deepen customer relationships while expanding opportunities across mining, forestry, and industrial maintenance,” Mike Labanovich, Wainbee’s vice-president of sales and technical services, said in a Feb. 3 news release.

“Together, we see meaningful potential to grow both service and project-driven demand in the region.”

Founded in 2012, Hydraulics Plus is a distributor of the Parker line of fluid power components, and has a strong local presence and service depth, Wainbee said.

Combine that with Wainbee’s national scale, product breadth, and supplier relationships, and the company is “well positioned to unlock new growth opportunities and enhanced service offerings for customers in the region,” Wainbee said.

An employee-owned company, Wainbee has been in operation since 1957, providing engineered systems, products and services for motion and control, filtration and automation solutions in industries including construction, forestry, mining, metals, manufacturing, rail, power generation, and more.

Wainbee has 16 locations and employs more than 200 people.
