For All Mankind has gone to the Moon, it’s gone to Mars, and it’s populated them both, but the question remains: are we alone in the universe? The search for intelligent life is on the minds of the characters in season five of the Apple TV show, which takes place in 2012, some 50 years into the alternate timeline of the show. But, before they can really focus on that, things on Mars look to be hitting a boiling point.

Apple TV just released the first full trailer for the long-awaited fifth season of For All Mankind, and the show is back to its old tricks. Years after hijacking an asteroid to ensure humans could continue to colonize Mars, the division between Mars and Earth is as heated as ever. Plus, while the older generation continues to age out, a new one is stepping up, and they’re pissed. Check out the trailer for season five of For All Mankind.

There’s so much going on in that trailer that our heads are spinning, so let’s attempt to break it down. First and foremost, in addition to returning cast members such as Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt, all of whom have been aged up considerably, the new cast sure seems like the focus.

Mainly, there’s Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as the grandson of Ed Baldwin, the main character of the show for the past four seasons, played by Kinneman. But also, there’s Ruby Cruz (Willow) as the daughter of Kebbell’s character, a revolutionary on Mars, and Mireille Enos as some kind of security officer. Those characters, from the trailer, certainly feel like emerging stars.

But where’s Krys Marshall’s Danielle Poole? She’s still alive out there. And why are the citizens of Mars so angry with Earth and vice versa? Well, we’ll find out soon enough on the best streaming show you should be watching if you aren’t. For All Mankind returns to Apple TV on March 27.
