Montreal is very cold, so I would have made a home in my hotel room bed and stayed there all weekend if I could. But it’s also an incredibly cultural, fun city (the pubs and bars are known to be amazing, and the clubbing scene is considered to be better than Toronto), so don’t limit yourself, however comfy the bed. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is a must, and handily a five-minute walk from the hotel. It’s capacious and impressively modern, with a particularly brilliant exhibition from First Nations artist Kent Monkman that’s going until March. And, if you can, try and get tickets to an ice hockey game for the full Heated Rivalry experience.
