Ross Chastain qualified second, followed by Chase Briscoe, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott. Christopher Bell, last year’s winner at COTA, was eighth fastest.
Shane van Gisbergen, who enters Sunday’s event riding a five-race winning streak in NASCAR Cup Series road course events, qualified 13th.
The DuraMax Texas Grand Prix Powered by RelaDyne takes the green flag at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on FOX, the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
