Ottawa Senators News & Notes:
The Ottawa Senators come into tonight’s Battle of Ontario matchup looking to push themselves back into the playoff conversation. After a playoff birth last season, Ottawa has had many ups and downs this season as they look to return to the playoffs, and this has resulted in the Senators finding themselves seven points out of a playoff position less than a week before the trade deadline. Tonight, a win against a divisional rival will help their case, so look for the Senators to come out strong tonight.
Toronto Maple Leafs News & Notes:
The Toronto Maple Leafs return home for the first time since their five game losing streak at home last month. That losing streak seems to be what shifted the Leafs into the sellers conversation, and if there was any doubt, two losses to divisional rivals since returning from the Olympic break. Tonight the Leafs should push to get back into the win column, to try and give the Leafs fans some hope in an otherwise hopeless season.

Players To Watch:
Ottawa Senators
Tim Stützle has been an ‘X factor’ for the Senators this season. He has 62 points so far in 58 games with the Senators. His high hockey IQ as well as elite vision has helped the Senators offense, and he will look to have a strong effort against the Leafs tonight.
Toronto Maple Leafs
William Nylander continues to be Toronto’s most productive player this season despite the team’s recent struggles, leading the Maple Leafs with 54 points in just 42 games. Nylander came back from the Olympics without a medal, and has returned his focus on Toronto. He has two points in two games since the break and will continue to be an offensive dynamic player for Toronto tonight.
