On Saturday night, the Washington Wizards will be at home to host the Toronto Raptors in Washington, D.C.
The Wizards are coming off two straight losses to the Atlanta Hawks (in Georgia).

Before Saturday’s showdown with the Raptors, the Wizards made the announcement that they had signed a new player.
Via The Washington Wizards PR: “The Washington Wizards announced today they have signed forward Julian Reese to a two-way contract. Reese (6-9, 230) has appeared in 39 games for the G League’s Raptors 905 this season, averaging 7.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game.”

Who Is Julian Reese?

Reese played his college basketball at Maryland where he had career averages of 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 55.7% from the field and 29.2% from three-point range in 134 games.
Josh Robbins of The Athletic wrote: “The Wizards’ expectation is that Julian Reese, whose two-way contract became official today, could be in uniform as early as Tuesday’s game in Orlando. Reese, a 6-foot-9 big, attended Baltimore’s St. Frances Academy and the University of Maryland & is the brother of Angel Reese.”
WNBA star Angel Reese made a post for her brother.

Current State Of The Washington Wizards

The Wizards made several moves at the trade deadline that landed them with former All-Stars Trae Young and Anthony Davis.
That said, neither player has yet to appear in a game for the franchise.
Right now, they are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 16-42 record in 58 games.
Following the Raptors, the Wizards will play their next game on Monday when they host Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.
On the other side of Saturday’s showdown, the Raptors are the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-25 record in 59 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (and are 5-5 over their last ten games).
