VIDEO REPORT: Jesuit beats rival Brother Martin to win 14th soccer state championship

All right, joining me now is the winning coach of the Jesuit Blue Jays, UB Collins, coach. Championship number 11 for you, 14 overall for the Jesuit Blue Jays. Is this one different than the previous? I think everyone is different, uh, you know, here at this wonderful venue, we really enjoyed being here and playing here today, and what *** wonderful opponent in Brother Martin that we had tonight and what *** very exciting moment that we had for our fans tonight. You guys trailed 1-0. I feel like you trailed against them and you played in *** regular season as well. What clicked for y’all in the second half? I think our halftime talk to say to the guys, to reassure them that we believed in them and they need to believe in themselves and to believe in their attacking abilities. You know, we’ve scored *** ton of goals all year and we were like, we were determined that we weren’t going to leave this pitch without putting the ball in the back of the net, and Casey put two beautifully. Goals in for us and what *** great night it was after that. You just said his name, Casey. How awesome was he in that second half and the attacks that he had on the goalie? Yeah, I mean, Casey’s *** phenomenal, phenomenal talent, you know, just his ability on the ball, his vision on the ball, and just, you know, his selflessness on the field. He’s willing to work tirelessly for everybody on the field. Look in the final seconds of this match. You got *** little bit scared, almost *** little heart attack there. Your goalie, you almost gave up that goal. Yeah, well, you know, it was, it was, you know, their striker up top, the big fella that they had for brother Martin, had *** phenomenal game, and you know, he got *** breakthrough at the end, and Peanut, our goalkeeper, came up with *** one on one save and then gathered the rebound, and that was *** defining moment right there because it would have gave them *** lot of impetus with only seconds left to go in the game. So it was really exciting, but *** great overall round team. Farms. I couldn’t be more proud of the guys. Last question for you, does it ever get old winning? It’s *** lot of state championships, as I said earlier, I’m getting older, but it never gets old winning. Every time you win *** state championship, it rejuvenates you, bring you back in years. But I’m so happy and so proud of the team, and hopefully we’ll go on to do it again next year. Congratulations. Appreciate your time, coach. All right, the Jesuit Blue Jays are now 2 to 1 against the Brother Martin Crusaders in state championship games. Back to you.
