An explosion in an industrial area in southeast Calgary has left a man with life-altering injuries.
Emergency crews were called to a workplace on 107 Avenue SE on 68 Street SE around 3:10 p.m. for reports of an explosion.
Police say a pressurized tank exploded at the site and injured one person. A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital with life-altering injuries.
“It was a tank of some sort and there was testing happening,” says Calgary Fire Department spokesperson Carol Henke.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the explosion.
