A Mississauga woman last seen in June 2022 is now considered to be a victim of homicide, police say.
Mezhgan Aini, 38, who also went by the names “Sara” or “Sarah,” was reported missing in June 2025 by family members in Afghanistan who had been unable to reach her for an extended period of time, Peel police said in a news release on Monday.
Police said they are now investigating her disappearance as a homicide.
It’s not clear why she was not reported missing earlier.
Aini lived in the area of Queen Frederica Drive and Dundas Street E, police said.
She is described as five foot two inches tall. She has a medium build with long, straight black hair. Police have released two images of her.
Police are asking anyone who saw “suspicious activity” in the area of her home between June and September 2022 or who has information about Aini or her family to contact investigators.
