UFC middleweight star Bo Nickal accused Colby Covington of officially declining a fight for the upcoming UFC White House card.
Many top UFC names are looking to get a spot on the upcoming White House card as CEO Dana White prepares to formally announce the full fight slate sometime in the coming weeks. White and the matchmakers, according to the UFC headman, put together the card last week at their weekly matchmaking meeting.
While it’s uncertain who will fight in the main event of UFC White House, Conor McGregor and Jon Jones are two legends in the mix to headline. Jones retired last summer after a long contract dispute, while McGregor hasn’t fought in the Octagon since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
Bo Nickal and Colby Covington, two of U.S. President Donald Trump’s favorite UFC fighters, are also hoping to get slots on the upcoming card. After a fiery back-and-forth at a Real American Freestyle press conference, Nickal has repeatedly called out Covington to fight him at 185 lbs.
Despite the intrigue, it appears Covington has other plans that don’t involve Nickal as an opponent.
Bo Nickal shares discouraging update on potential Colby Covington fight
In a recent post to X, Nickal revealed that Covington has turned down an offer to fight him at the White House.
“Colby won’t fight me unfortunately,” Nickal posted on Wednesday.
“Probably a smart move by him.”
As of this writing, Covington hasn’t responded to Nickal’s comments. He hasn’t fought in the Octagon since a TKO loss to Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa in 2024.
Meanwhile, Nickal got back into the middleweight mix with a brutal head-kick KO against Rodolfo Vieira at UFC 322 in November. He bounced back from his first-career MMA loss to Reinier de Ridder last year.
