The Sturgis Curling held a two-person team spiel that saw prizes distributed for games won.

STURGIS — The Sturgis two-on-two curling bonspiel attracted 18 two person teams on Feb. 12-14 at the Sturgis Curling Rink.

The fun spiel featured a Brandon draw style with points earned for games won and ends scored. Prize money was distributed at the end of the spiel. The team of Cory Babiuk and Drae Peterson won first place, followed by the team of Taylor and Shelby Sliva and Avyn and Amrie Seerey placed third overall.

Other teams entered featured the teams of Daniel Michaluk and Emmitt Arneson; Allie Babiuk and Avery Masley; Kristen Peterson and Shae Peterson; Koy and Keith Babiuk; Amanda Masley and Kim Ryczak; Don Watson and Joanne Boechler; Ivan and Gail Peterson; Noah and Natasha Tonn; Mason Babiuk and Brea Barbiarz; Jesse and Shannon Nelson; Derek and Parker Ryczak; Kerby Mirva and Laura Sopel; Kelton and Bracyn Konkel; Jocelyn and Kirby Pankratz; Andrea Sopel and Ashley Ward.

The next bonspiel will feature a kids spiel from March 9-11, followed by the last bonspiel, Matt’s Bonspiel, March 11-15, and a snowmobile derby on March 14.
