The St. Louis Blues have waived forward Mathieu Joseph for the purposes of contract termination, the team announced Thursday.
This marks the second time in two weeks that the 29-year-old winger had been placed on waivers after previously going unclaimed on Feb. 27. He was later assigned to the team’s AHL affiliate, Springfield Thunderbirds.
If Joseph were to clear again, he would be granted unrestricted free agency and would be available to sign with another team.
The Laval, Que. native has recorded two goals and nine assists for 11 points across 39 games for St. Louis. He is currently in the last season of a four-year, $11.80 million deal, and carries a cap hit of $2.95 million.
A fourth-round pick in 2015, Joseph has 61 goals and 160 points in 459 career NHL games split between the Blues, Ottawa Senators, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Devils waive Dadonov, Glendening, Tsyplakov
The New Jersey Devils have placed forwards Evgenii Dadonov, Luke Glendening, and Maxim Tsyplakov on waivers Thursday.
Dadonov, 36, has failed to register a point in 17 games for the Devils this season after signing with the team as a free agent over the summer.
The Chelyabinsk, Russia native was scratched for New Jersey’s past five games, last appearing before the Olympic break on Feb. 5 against the New York Islanders.
A veteran of 12 NHL campaigns, Dadonov has scored 163 goals and 361 points across 634 career games spent with the Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, and Devils.
Glendening, 36, has skated in 52 contests for New Jersey this season, posting four assists while averaging 9:54 of ice time per game.
The Grand Rapids, Mich. native had been scratched for each of New Jersey’s past six games, last playing on Feb. 3 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Glendening has played in 916 career NHL games, recording 83 goals and 87 assists in time spent with the Detroit Red Wings, Stars, Lightning, and Devils.
Both Dadonov and Glendening are set for unrestricted free agency at season’s end.
Tsyplakov, 27, was acquired by the Devils in a trade from the Islanders on Jan. 27.
In nine games since being acquired by New Jersey, the Moscow, Russia native did not record a point and played to a minus-three rating in 8:26 of action per outing.
The sophomore skater still has another year remaining on his deal at $2.25 million.
After making his debut on the Island during the 2024-25 season, Tysplakov has totaled 11 goals and 26 assists for 37 points in 113 career games.
Also placed on waivers Thursday with just over 24 hours remaining until the NHL trade deadline were Curtis Douglas of the Lightning, Golden Knights wingers Cole Reinhardt and Alexander Holtz, and Philadelphia Flyers forward Garrett Wilson.
