NEWMARKET SHOOTINGS: York Regional Police have charged an 18-year-old Mississauga man with multiple offences, including attempted murder, after shots were fired at the same Newmarket home on two separate occasions last year.

On Oct. 16, 2025, around 1 a.m., police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Hewitt Circle and Plantation Gate, and found damage to two vehicles parked in a driveway, as well as the garage and front door of the residence.

Cops say the home was occupied at the time, but no physical injuries were reported.
Police say a week later on Oct. 23, 2025, around 4:40 a.m., police responded to additional reports of gunshots at the same address after a suspect fired multiple rounds toward the residence and vehicles in the driveway.
One victim inside a parked vehicle was struck by gunfire and was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, search warrants were executed at residences in Mississauga and Brampton, and a firearm, high-capacity magazines and a quantity of a controlled substance were seized.

Jason Tulloch faces charges of attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a controlled substance, three charges of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device and 16 firearm-related charges.

DEMO CHARGES
Toronto Police have charged two people following a large demonstration around 3:03 p.m. on Wednesday at Queen’s Park.
It’s alleged that the first accused vandalized a monument with spray paint and, while officers were attempting to arrest them, a number of other protesters became aggressive toward the officers and the second accused spat on an officer.
Rohtansh Saini, 22, of Toronto, was charged with mischief – damage to property under $5,000.
Mason Wallington, 21, of Hay River, Northwest Territories, was charged with assaulting a peace officer.
