The power has gone out in a Mississauga neighbourhood, affecting 3,174 homes and businesses in the area

Electricity supplier Alectra says the outage is in north central Mississauga.

The area that has been hit is between Mavis Road to the west, Hurontario Street to the east, Bristol Road West to the north, and Highway 403 to the south.

As of yet, the cause of the outage has not been determined and an investigation is underway.

Crews are in the area working towards restoring the service.

Repairs are expected to continue into the evening, with the power expected to return between 3 and 5 p.m.
