A Brampton man is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to firearm incidents that occurred four years ago in Thunder Bay.
Andrew Anthony Plummer, 38, appeared in court through video this week and entered a guilty plea for several charges.
He pleaded guilty to attempted murder of an OPP officer during a shootout, aggravated assault for shooting his brother, drug possession, and other charges related to his flight from police.
It was on March 8, 2022, that it was first reported that a man had been shot at a home in the city located in northwest Ontario.
Police had information on the suspect and believed he planned to flee the area.
Later, Plummer was located, and when they tried to stop his vehicle, he opened fire on the officers.
He then took off in the vehicle but crashed into a ditch.
Plummer then tried to run on foot but was arrested a short time later.
Despite the exchange of bullets, no one was injured in the shootout.
