A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run in the area of 88 Avenue and Nordel Way in Surrey.

On March 5 at 11:24 p.m., a vehicle struck two pedestrians at the intersection of 88 Avenue and Nordel Way. One of the pedestrians, an adult male, was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The adult male driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the collision and abandoned the vehicle a short distance away.

Surrey Police Service officers responded, and the SPS Collision Investigation Unit was called in to assist. The investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.

There is currently a road closure westbound at Nordel Way and 88th Avenue. The closures are expected to last several hours as officers conduct their investigation.
