Winnipeg police say they’re increasing patrols around local Jewish spaces after shots were fired at synagogues in the Greater Toronto Area.
Patrols will be up around city synagogues and other Jewish community spaces, police said in a social media post Saturday.
The announcement came on the same day police in the GTA said they were investigating shootings at two synagogues in North York and Vaughan that had happened around midnight.

No one was injured in either incident, officials said. But York police officers said two people were inside the North York synagogue at the time.
The incident came days after shots were fired at another synagogue in North York overnight. No one was injured, police said.
Winnipeg police said Saturday the incidents were “deeply concerning” and that they resonated beyond the GTA, calling on Winnipeggers who see anything suspicious to report it to police.
