Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale was arrested at a Miami nightclub on Thursday. Ogunbowale was taken into custody after she allegedly punched a man who was attempting to escort her out of the establishment.
“I have no comments on that right now. I’m just really happy that Arike is safe and ok, and anything else will really have to be figured out with Unrivaled,” Breanna Stewart stated.

Ogunbowale is known for her incredible talent on the court, so it’s disappointing to hear about something like this happening off the court. Hopefully, all the facts come out soon, and the situation gets handled properly.
Things have looked rough for Ogunbowale. Celebrating a title should never end with something like this, especially when it’s all on camera.
Ogunbowale hit the game-winner to seal the championship at Unrivaled and still let her anger take over. That is supposed to be a moment to celebrate, not fight. It was a really bad way to ruin a good moment.
Ogunbowale celebrating a $100,000+ win should not end in a jail cell. With the CBA deadline on March 10, the timing could not be worse for the union’s image.

This incident could affect Ogunbowale’s career. If anybody receives a jail term, it will be very hard to clean off. The choices that people make can have consequences.
Success comes with responsibility. Whether one is an All-Star or a regular citizen, violence is never the answer. This is a sad way to celebrate a title.
Clubs are known for altercations involving alcohol. It is a matter of knowing when to leave once you have had enough to drink and keep your cool, or ask the club bouncers to handle the situation.
