The garage stalls are humming and the 2026 season is coming into focus with a major piece of the championship puzzle falling into place. Speedhouse has officially confirmed that Portuguese standout Nuno Caetano will return to the seat for the upcoming campaign, eyeing the top step of the podium in the NASCAR Euro Series Rookie Challenge.
After an impressive 2025 run that saw Caetano secure a third-place overall finish in the Rookie standings, the Lisboa native is no longer just a fresh face in the paddock – he’s a marked man.
Caetano burst onto the scene last year, showing consistent speed during the season opener at Valencia. His ability to find the racing line and maintain a blistering pace right out of the trailer caught the attention of fans and competitors alike. For Team Principal Lucas Lasserre, bringing Caetano back wasn’t just a preference; it was a competitive necessity.
“Nuno did an amazing job last year, he was fast immediately,” Lasserre noted. “To be clear, Nuno will be a strong contender for the 2026 title and we have trust in him to clinch it. He is totally in line with the Speedhouse mindset – positive, relaxed but serious, and totally focused.”
In a world of increasingly digital racing, Caetano remains a devotee of the raw, high-horsepower experience that the series provides. Despite a busy schedule that includes a high-profile entry into the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this June, his commitment to the European circuit remains his primary focus.
“Everything is just right at Speedhouse, especially the car preparation and the atmosphere,” Caetano said. “It’s a pure series and I just love it. I am sure that the 2026 season will be a success and fun so that we can all enjoy great times together!”
The NASCAR season is poised for a jolt of fresh competition as the anticipated Rookie Challenge officially kicks off on April 17. This event serves as the first major proving ground for the newest class of drivers, offering them a dedicated platform to showcase their talents and vie for early-season supremacy against their Rookie Challenge peers.
