Peel Regional Police have charged two Mississauga brothers with 55 offences after recovering 13 stolen vehicles with an estimated value of more than $800,000.

Cops said in October 2025 they began to investigate an organized auto crime group and following search warrants at two residences in Mississauga, the investigation culminated in March 2026, resulting in the recovery of the vehicles.

Sulman Dar, 28, faces 24 charges of possession of property obtained by crime and 23 charges of fail to comply with release order.

Shahroz Dar, 24, faces four charges of theft of motor vehicle, three charges of possession of property obtained by crime and one charge of fail to comply with release order.

Both brothers had court-imposed release orders at time of arrests

At the time of their arrests, both men were bound by court-imposed release orders in relation to failing to comply with release order, robbery and property related offences.

“Auto theft remains a priority for Peel Regional Police,” said Deputy Chief Marc Andrews in a statement. “We have been leading the charge in reducing auto theft across our region, and this investigation is another example of the continued efforts of our officers. Organized crime groups that target our communities for profit will be identified, disrupted, and dismantled. We will continue to hold those responsible fully accountable for their criminal actions.”

Peel police said they continue to actively disrupt criminal activity related to auto theft, contributing to a nearly 15% decrease in stolen vehicles so far in 2026 compared to the same period last year.
